DONATION DRIVE FOR KERRVILLE PETS ALIVE! & AUSTIN PETS ALIVE!
The catastrophic floods in Texas have become a national tragedy over the past weekend, and PAWS-BHM is heartbroken for all of the families in the Texas / Guadalupe River area suffering devastating losses.
Sadly, many pets are suffering due to this unimaginable tragedy. Many have been separated from their families, suffered injuries, lost their owners to drownings during the floods, or are still in hiding due to trauma and fear. Consequently, two of the main animal shelters in the area, Austin Pets Alive and Kerrville Pets Alive, are overwhelmed with urgent needs as they seek to provide rescue efforts, shelter, and medical care. They are actively reuniting pets with their owners, or taking in animals who do not yet have a safe place to go home to. And of course, all of these relief efforts are occurring as the shelters were already at capacity!
If you would like to help the Texas Flood relief efforts that are specifically focused on animal care, Austin Pets Alive and Kerrville Pets Alive has stated that their most urgent need right now is cash donations which can be made at these links:

Additionally, Austin Pets Alive has published the following Urgent Needs to help with their relief efforts:
- Work gloves & surgical / Nitrile gloves
- Pet Wipes
- Clorox Wipes
- Scrub Pads
- Zip Ties
- Heavy-duty & kitchen trash bags
- Potty Pads
- Flea/tick meds
- Small bags of food
- Canned Food (both dog and cat)
We will accept any of the items listed above through this mid-July. Since these are urgent needs, we will be shipping to the Texas shelters as soon as possible.
