If you’re in the mood for “decluttering” this holiday season and also love helping animals, then PAWS 2 Recycle is the perfect donation opportunity for you! Our PAWS 2 Recycle initiative is on-going, and it’s a great way to help shelter animals while also being environmentally resourceful!
Please be on the lookout for some of these items as you tidy up around the house – it might surprise you to realize some of the things you already have on hand (and won’t miss a bit!) that will be a blessing to a shelter pet in need!
Here are a few of the things that we collect:
Newspapers
Empty Pill Bottles
Cardboard Tubes (from toilet paper rolls, paper towels, or gift wrapping tubes)
Used Towels (any size)
Old Blankets & Sheets
Empty Water Bottles
Knee High Socks (good condition only please since they are used for dog toys)
Unwanted T-shirts (that will be “up-cycled” into cool rope toys!)
We also accept any other items that you’d like to donate, such as pet food or toys.
We typically host our donation drives on a periodic basis, but we have a bin where supplies can be dropped off at any time. We are also able to arrange a pick-up for large donations.

*Please note that PAWS-BHM is an “initiative,” not an organization. We do not accept cash donations since we are not a 501(c)(3) organization. Instead, our role is to collect item donations such as pet food and supplies and deliver them to shelters on behalf of our donors. If you would like to contribute money to one of the shelters that we support, we can deliver your check on your behalf when we deliver other supply donations.
